Alexander Street Press launches evidence-based acquisition with Dundee University
We are delighted that Dundee University are the first academic institution internationally to adopt this exciting new model, and we are very keen to work with them throughout the year ahead on this exciting initiative.News of Dundee’s involvement has sparked much excitement around the UK and globally (as far afield as Australia), so we know that the world is watching with interest! We are also pleased to report that another UK institution signed recently and will communicate news of this more widely soon.
Video at Alexander Street: Alexander Street Press host successful Academic Video session in London, Institute of Physics
Alexander Street Press recently held a meeting for UK-based librarians and faculty to discuss the use of video for academic teaching and research. The session covered: the place of video within the academy; online tools to help faculty use video for their courses; video licensing; and business models. It was a well-received event, and follow up details will be available shortly. In the meantime, please find the presentations included below. Alexander Street Press is set to release the BFI’s Mitchell and Kenyon silent films from September 2013. Following an agreement with the BFI, over 300 titles will be available for institutions as a three-year stream or perpetual access and will be available on the Academic Video Store platform.
