Subscription Content Removal List

For Subscriptions Only. This Does Not Affect Perpetually Purchased Content.

Alexander Street provides new content to our subscription products on a regular basis. The growth is ongoing and results from specific efforts to bring you current, high-quality video and other multi-format content.

Some highlights of recent new updates include:

  • Academic Video Online adds ~3,500 titles per year. In 2021 we've added content from publishers such as FILM PLATFORM, Sony Pictures Classics*, Juno Films, California Newsreel, BBC Worldwide, PBS, The Economist, Center for Asian America Media, and more.  If you'd like to stay up-to-date on monthly additions and deletions to the collection, see our support center Content Update Page and click 'Notify Me' to receive monthly updates.
  • Music and Dance Online has grown in the past year with scores and audio content. Additions include over 350 titles and 36,000 pages of scores from Schott Music and over 430 albums and 7,200 audio tracks in classical, jazz and contemporary music from labels including Hänssler Classic, Profil, Tactus, and ARC Music.
  • Dance Studies Collection added over 2,050 pages of archival materials from Ann Hutchinson Guest Collection, University of Roehampton adding seminal dance research archival documents to the richness of the dance reference collection.
  • Theatre & Drama Premium and Theatre Performance & Design Collection now contain the full collection of BBC Literary Adaptations in Video including 79 high-quality video performances of famous literary works, many of which are frequently taught in theatre and literature programs.

New content is regularly added to Alexander Street subscriptions. However, due to the nature of subscription products and changing requests from publishing partners, titles are periodically removed from subscription products. To minimize access interruptions to users, these removals are limited to two times per year.

These changes do not impact customers who have purchased perpetual rights. If you have purchased perpetual rights to any of these titles, you can ignore this notice.

On Wednesday, July 7, 2021, we will remove a limited amount of content from the following subscription products:
