Andrea Eastman-Mullins To Serve as COO; David Parker as Managing Director of NYC Office
(ALEXANDRIA, VA) – Alexander Street Press has announced two personnel changes within the Alexander Street family—including the appointment of a new COO and a managing director of the New York City Office.
Eight-year Alexander Street Press veteran Andrea Eastman-Mullins assumes the role of chief operating officer, effective immediately. Eastman-Mullins’s past experience includes work at all stages of the product development process, including roles as an indexer, UI designer, editor, and project manager. She has also led a number of key initiatives in human resources. In her role as COO, she will be responsible for Alexander Street’s production, editorial, and development departments and she will continue to serve as a member of the executive team.
Also newly announced, Alexander Street Press’s business publisher David Parker will advance to the role of managing director of Alexander Street’s New York City office, formerly known as Insight Media. Since joining Alexander Street Press in 2013, Parker has played an integral role in expanding the company’s relationships with content partners and faculty. He has more than 15 years’ experience in the e-learning and library products space, including past positions as the founder and president of Business Expert Press. In his new position, he will be responsible for the continued growth of Alexander Street’s single-title business which includes streaming films and DVDs.
“In the past 18 months we’ve hired, trained and promoted a number of great talents,” says Stephen Rhind-Tutt, president at Alexander Street Press. “I feel extremely confident in our team moving forward. Since joining us in 2006 as Director of Software Marketing, Andrea has risen to many challenges. She is an accomplished leader, an asset to our company, and the natural choice to become COO. Similarly, David Parker’s success in our business division makes him the ideal fit to lead our New York City office. We look forward to great things from them both.”
