This online collection includes over 100,000 tracks from the world’s greatest  classical music labels, including Hyperion, Bridge Records, Sanctuary Classics, Artemis-Vanguard, Hänssler Classic, Vox, and many more. Coverage ranges from medieval to contemporary, with choral works, symphonies, operas, the avant-garde, vocal and instrumental music, chamber music, and many other forms.

Users can create their own playlists and either keep them private or share them—with just their institution’s users or with all users. Faculty will appreciate the themed playlists (women composers, baroque, operetta, and more), as well as those tailored to specific courses and teaching anthologies.

Alexander Street’s Semantic Indexing™, multiple and combinable search fields, and highly functional browsing allow researchers to find information that might otherwise remain buried or unreachable. No one offers such an extensive controlled vocabulary of musical terms—more than 200 classical genres and subgenres, 11,000 composers, 7,000 performers and ensembles, and 200 instruments.
