Classical Scores Library: Volume II is the largest source of previously unpublished, in-copyright works by major contemporary composers from around the world. It currently provides online access to almost 40,000 pages of scores (more than 1,300 titles) that can be printed and annotated, and will grow to 200,000 pages on completion in 2013 with new titles being regularly added.

This collection complements and expands on Classical Scores Library, the largest and most comprehensive online scores collection designed to support the teaching and research of classical music. When combined, they provide online access to 600,000 pages of scores by the end of 2013.

In addition to contemporary composers, Classical Scores Library: Volume II will also include:

  • Important composers not represented in the first volume (Classical Scores Library).
  • Critical editions of compositions that are lesser known but often studied.

The Definitive Source for Previously Unpublished Works

We work with individual composers and composer collectives to license previously unpublished works. Contemporary composers licensed to date include Mark Isaacs, Andrew Schultz, Mary Finsterer, Nicholas Vines, Damien Ricketson, Thomas Oboe Lee, Matt Malsky, Yotam Haber, Huck Hodge, Marc Yeats, and Thomas Reiner.

Rare Works Now Available Online

Classical Scores Library: Volume II will include all 60 volumes of The Symphony 1720‒1840, the largest source of eighteenth century symphonies comprising 550 symphonic works.

Movement-level Indexing and Discovery

All scores are indexed at the movement level  so users can discover and access specific movements directly without having to navigate the entire score. Individual movements can also be cited on permanent URLs.
